Cherry Limeade Cupcakes

I picked up some cherry extract and got carried away, today I baked Chocolate Cherry Bombz, and the other day (Thursday) made these bad boys Cherry Limeade, remember the soda? that was the best. I'm sure they still have it around. I just haven't found it, which, is a good thing. That is the last thing that needs to be on my mind and in my body. Anyways, These were made for a show, what it consisted of was cherry, lime and cake, yumminess in all. I think it felt more like spring when these cupcakes where sold at this show. That is going to be my goal for this Summer, bake more fresh fruit cupcakes. But, the only downfall, I would have to sell them at a dollar instead of .50, but common, its not that much of a difference. I need new ideas for cupcake flavors. Oh yeah, I might also introduce vegan ice cream cupcakes, I have done regular ice cream cupcakes before (very time consuming) but very very worth while, anyways, that might also be on the menu, for those of you planning on ordering or going to shows in the Summer. Look out!

So, I have been thinking about this, it was brought to my attention. I can in a way "promote" bands with Stay Sweet Cupcakes(of course I have no money to give, but!), as they come through Fresno and every time they stop to play or whatever I will bake them a dozen of cupcakes of their choice as long as they help spread the word on Stay Sweet Cupcakes, if you are interested and are in a band and some how read this boring blog and tour quite a lot and love cupcakes hit me up! that would be rad. two things I love supporting bands and spreading the love for cupcakes. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcake!?

Yes, you read right. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcake until I find a sweet new name to call it. Yes, its vegan. Yes, this is my first attempt. Yes, this is not the final cupcake. Yes, there will be other variations. So please sit tight, :). This idea came from a good friend. We were discussing cupcakes, duh. We actually were talking about how bad ass mint cookies and cream cupcakes were and then that led to how rad mint chip ice was and then that led to chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and then it led me to create this:

So, lets talk about this cupcake. It contains cinnamon, cookie dough, and regular vanilla buttercream (for now). As a cupcake they were pretty rad. Definitely a crowd pleaser, but I definitely want to change up the recipe next time. Aside from that. This weekend I baked tons of cupcakes including these Funfetti cupcakes, and I don't think my last funfetti post got a good picture so here are a few:

So, You wanna talk, cupcake?

If someone used that pick up line on me, I'd probably instantly rip my heart out and give them it, not really. That does not even make any sense. But what does make sense is having cupcakes a your birthday party, duh.
A very lovely lady and very awesome friend of mine purchased a few dozen of cupcakes to have at her birthday, she was kind of enough to let me do them for her! I was definitely down and really happy she wanted me to bake them up for her and best of all make them completely vegan! (she is not vegan!) that was the best part. I had this order since January! So, of course I was surprised this day was finally here (March 7th, 2010) I know, I know, I've been slacking with these updates, I hardly ever have free time anymore, school is killing me, I'm getting as much help as I need, I'm putting in job applications every where, ugh, enough about me it came pretty fast, if you ask me. But don't because I just told you. So, anyways. Her order consisted of four dozens: Red Velvet (Red Head), Color me stoked, Punk n spice, and Blue Berry Lemon creme. An order that is full of flavor. Tons of yumminess! YUM YUM YUMS. I took a few pictures of the Blueberry Lemon creme, but not of the rest! which bums me out, :(. But, its alright, I was lucky enough that she had took a few pictures of them at her party. rad.

RED VELVET, jealous?

I've talked about red velvet before, but really, I don't think the picture I had as a red velvet cupcake was much. So, I had an order today from a lady twenty minutes south of Fresno, her order consist of one dozen Red Velvet and one dozen Strawberry Lemon. I'm assuming its for Valentines Day, what better than to give the one you truly love a cupcake? nothing. I think a cupcake is perfect. You can give your cupcake a cupcake and then cupcake later on, if you know what I'm sayin' really like cuddle up and watch a movie while eating cupcakes. That's what I'm saying. I'm not really into celebrating Valentines Day, for one I think if you truly love someone you should show them how you feel everyday not just one day out of the year, and two if you think that a gift will bring fate, youre wrong, fate doesn't exist in this blog. Well, whatever, I don't celebrate it, but my customers do, and that's just another perfect excuse to bake, which I definitely do not mind at all!

The night before I had another order, this one was tricky. It was half pumpkin spice, and half chocolate w/ chocolate and a strawberry. Those ruled. see for yourself, you don't even have to taste them to know that they were already a hit:

BWC ( Bee Dub Cee)

If you say it cool enough, it will sound cool. If you say it dorky it will just sound dumb. Don't bum me out and say it the wrong way. This is a Banana Walnut Cupcake topped with banana chips/walnuts/peanut butter frosting, yeah. These bad boys do damage worst they leave you wanting more. More is never enough. I guess these cupcakes can only go one way, if your bananas aren't ready to be used, the cake won't come out right, it won't taste legit. I hate waiting for bananas to get brown, well, usually around here my roommates and I don't let bananas get brown. ha. Truth. So, its hard to keep some long enough to where they are ready to use. So, enough about that. I know this recipe is played out even vegan style, but I thought I can use it for this blog update, since I haven't posted about this cupcake. I haven't had the time to create an awesome cupcake, but for some reason the orange and raspberry idea hasn't left my mind, it will happen, maybe Friday? Who knows. Well, thats enough, I have class soon. I'm done.

So,

This is how my yesterday went. I pulled off making 4 dozens of cupcakes for Ceremony & AFI, after I got out of class, 2:30, stoked I was. I was on the guestlist w/ a plus one, so I took Pachia, 'cause she rules. So, I didn't think I was going to do it but I did, the show was amazing. So many highschool kids were out late most with their parents, which I thought ruled. & it was cute. I got my talkage on with an old friend, I seen a ton of friends there, which was awesome. Ceremony killed it, AFI was sooooo amazing, I got some video. It was all around a great time, glad I got to go. Cupcakes were a hit. That was the biggest worry, I always worry what people think of my cupcakes, ya know? Well, if you don't I do. Anyways, I had a rad time aside from being punched in the face, pushed on the floor while trying to circle pit, stupid big dudes, 15 yr olds dressing & looking older than me. Highlights: Ross of Ceremony shouting me out "Thank You Janice" & calling out Necrowiza
rd, the ten hc kids getting wild for Ceremony & circle pitting & opening it up, sweet. NOT waiting in a long ass line, & the cupcakes being eaten as soon as they left my hands. Sweet Business.

Yo! Gimmie Both! Cupcake

decisions, decisions, yeah, its hard to make up your mind. Especially when it involves a cupcake, right? I know for me it does. I can't even decide on simple things. I know we can't have it all, but we can have both, if we wanted to. "You can have your cake and icing and eat it too." Right? I think so, I mean we can have the best of both worlds within a single cupcake, rad! So, I couldn't decide what to bake the night the show happened. I decided a simple vanilla cake was too plain, and the basic chocolate cake wasn't going to cut it, so why not try out a recipe that includes both right? yes! right. I did and the turn out of them was awesome. I added a bit of orange zest to citrus things up. They were a hit. I'm glad I made them, I might make them more often, but instead of basic vanilla and chocolate I might change that up a bit as well, ever want to try an orange/raspberry? yeah, I do. Even if you just said no or shook your head, I don't care, I will still make what I want, and you have to live with it, yeah you have no ruling in this blog or my mind. So get over it. I started up school again, yay! nah, just kidding its not that grand, so far within the first two weeks I already had a presentation, and two test coming up next week (today is Friday), that means studying, maybe time for cupcakes! yes! Stoked.
So, on another note I am definitely excited for Wednesday Jan. 27th. I will be making a big order of cupcakes for a couple of bands, instead of paying in dolla billz I will hook the bands up with cupcakes and that will cover my entrance to the show, I'm pretty stoked, why? Because I get to see AFI, that's why! Duh. I can't wait. I knew baking would get me great things in life, well its not the greatest but its pretty fucking rad. Color me stoked, if that's a color it would be a very pretty purple, green, pink, and gray. ha. So anyways, I have class in a few and then I get to enjoy my weekend with studying, show going, and hanging out, maybe.
Enough about my personal life, because no one cares, I will stop and let you drool over these awesome cupcakes, I apologize for the crappy pictures and shitty lighting, its my camera phone, I lost, misplaced, my battery charger to my camera and can't take better photos?
