Update

I haven't updated this in a while. So, since I'm up & have my phone with my & some time, I shall update. So, not much has been happening. I've been baking like crazy. Saturday (dec. 26th) I had this huge order that was last minute request but it was fun to make, plus I could use the extra cash. It was 3 dozen of Peanut Butter Bombz Away, 1 Cookies&Cream, & 1 Pumpkin Spice. I had tons of fun making them. I never knew my counter could hold 60 cupcakes at once. It was a success. Other than that on a side note I got this awesome cupcake recipe book from my grandma for xmas. She told me "i know you only bake vegan, maybe you can make the recipes vegan" I thought that was cute of her. All last week has been a crazy week. I lost out on tons of sleep. I had tons of orders to do. :) it was all worth it in the end. I think honestly in this past week I made about 200 or more cupcakes, just saying. I wouldn't have changed it though. There are 3 more days left until the year is over whic
h cupcake will be the last to be baked this year & which will be the first?

Party in your mouth cupcake (vegan)

If you like to party hard forget where you left your keys, your heart, your wallet, and your pride. These aren't your cupcakes. But, if you like to party, try new things out, take risk, this is your cupcake. These aren't the typical cupcake, frosting, swirl and into your mouth they go. They are more like a party in your mouth. With different flavors exploding into your mouth all at once, I don't think anyone really will understands how crazy one single cupcake can get. These are banana cake, with swirls of strawberry preserves, and finely chopped chocolate, thats just the cake. On top is my very favorite vanilla buttercream with chocolate ganache drizzled, to give it a crazy sundae look, added sprinkles, walnuts, and a cherry to complete it. Thats a whole lot for a cupcake, already sounds like a party just by its description. I made these for Fresno Fest 09 along with these other flavors: pumpkin spice, peanut butter bombs away, and cookies & cream. These were the first to sell out which I was glad they did, because I wasn't sure how people would respond to them. I didn't get a complaint so they must have been wild. One feedback I got from one person was "it felt like people were partying hard in my mouth and then throwing up and eating their throw up and started back up with the partying" whatever that means, sweet.

Fresno Fest 09

Tonight, evening or afternoon however you might want to look at it is Fresno Fest. Its the 6th annual done by Jeremy, I'm glad this fest is still going strong. Its crazy to think that this is the sixth year, I remember the first Fresno Fest it didn't seem that long ago, where has time gone?! shit. Well, I'm up late again deciding on what to bake. I wish I had sugar and oil though so I can get up and be ready to bake, instead I have to run to the store tomorrow morning. ugh, and then be ready by 3pm so I can hitch a ride with my mom to the fest, yes. 12 again, oh well gotta do what you gotta do. I really wish I knew what was wrong with the car, I hate depending on people. Its frustrating. I would bike but really carrying 4-5 dozens of cupcakes, patches, and my purse and a nine year old on my back isn't worth the risk, just saying. I will try to take as many pictures as I can so I blog about it later. Too bad this doesn't connect to twitter since I will be most likely updating from there most of the time. I will try to sneak a blog from my phone like I always do.

Today

I had two orders to fill. One that was for a dozen of blueberry lemon cremé & peanut butter bombs. The other was cookies & cream & peppermint. It took me most of the day, but mo' money. just sayin' ha. Now, I want to just hang out with friends.

Now that they are all gone

I can finally start on a new sweet design.

30 Minutes away, miles apart

the road is only as far as you make it seem. It can be the longest ride of your life. It can be the shortest adventure you'll ever need. For me the road is everything. I wish I met more of California road. I wish I met out of state road. The sweetest thing about traveling is having a cupcake or 24 awaiting your arrvial. Sweet! I can go on about the road for days. But I won't. I will start with these awesome folks who drove about 30 minutes to pick up some Stay Sweet Cupcakes from me. Really? 30 minutes. Thats gotta be a pretty damn good cupcake, if people are willing to hit the road for cupcakes, C'mon you know its good. Did I mention it was raining!!? Well, it was. I think it makes it totally worth the drive for a cupcake esp. a Stay Sweet Cupcake, real talk. Even if you are across the nation and you had a chance to try one, I bet you are wishing you had one by your side right about..........now. Its Good

to know that someone appreciates your hard work and doesn't try to be nice about it because they feel the need to. Since, I have been selling cupcakes at shows I have received many positive and nice comments about them. The only negative response I got from a person was from Jeremy, but he's an asshole. ha ha. I am not big on being in the spotlight, I don't like attention much, I'm not really social. I have met a lot of cool people that have passed through Fresno, at stores or at school that have purchased a cupcake or talked about baking. I guess for me my baking brings me out of my shell I like to stay in. I am usually quiet and won't say a word at all if I didn't have to. Truth is as much as I hate attention when my good baking is recognized I sort of like it. The compliments make me feel good, actually GREAT. So, Thank YOU to anyone who has ever had anything nice to say about what I do, it truly means a lot to me even if I don't show it. I do appreciate the positive feedbacks aside from punk rock those comments make life for me 10x better. Thanks again!

Silk Nog cupcakes

You know the classic egg nog that is around during the last month of the year? Yeah, well so is this silk nog for people who can't drink regular shit that ends up hurting them in the furture (late night stomach pains). Well, I thought why the hell isn't this brought up more often? I mean egg nog seems to rule why aren't there many baked goods its used in? The reason? I don't know. All I know is that not many understand how much better everything is cupcake form. Just sayin' ;-). So, I decided to take the basic vanilla cupcake recipe and substitute the silk nog instead of soymilk & delicious it was. Keep in mind I have never had egg nog in my life so I didn't know what to expect. It was good. Tonight I have an order for egg nog cupcakes I'm excited to bake away.

Cupcake contest, Stay Sweet jingle, & winner

So, today (12/10/2009) was the cupcake contest! It ruled. Kind of I had to sit in for a band to play & then another. Just sayin' when its not my cup of tea music it can be a dragg. So after waiting and sitting for two hours they finally annouced a winner. I won for best tasting, of course. Ha ha. Jk. But I submitted my famous Peanut Butter Bombs. I won. But really I mean I think I won for all three catorgies: best tasting, best decorative, & most creative. It taste good, it was decorated fancy, & it was creative peanut butter cupcake!?! Yeah..so I uploaded pictures from that! Then I get home check my email & got an email from my friend vxdedxv who sent me the best damn jingle ever. For stay sweet! Its been on repeat since I downloaded it,ha! This day treated me well!

Strawberry lemon tall cupcakes (vegan)

So, its that time where Fall isn't falling through the sun is still out & if your lucky you'll catch a sweat rather than a chill. It happens esp. In California. I guess since most people think it can't possibly ever get cold here. But it does, it hasn't gotten to the point where I cry about it but it has gotten to the point where my knuckles chapped up which never happens. So, I guess its pretty cold. Eh, I'm still not feeling it. Or it could be I don't wanr to let go of Summer I still have hope. But I rather wear layers of clothes than shorts & tank tops and get darker, it happens. Cupcake vs Jordan

So this is Jordan being himself I swear these pictures are all Jordan, no acting. Mo' Money. Quick mosh. care-free. worry-free. Random story telling. Such a fun guy to hang out with. Jordan loves to ride bikes. Hes not the cool trendy people you see at shows who ride to look cool, he rides because it feels good. Hes just an average dude with heart. Boston Cream Pie Cupcake(vegan)

So, the word on the street is a California can't master a Boston Cream Pie, not really. I don't know if the pie even comes from the east coast. I just know when I tried it I fell for it. So, the history I have no info on it. All I know is whoever came up with this recipe rules/ruled. I made these bad cakes for California Love Fest II if you didn't come, you missed out. Seriously, not only on cupcakes but on rad bands. Right now I'm sitting at the fest waiting for this moshxcore band to hurry up, ha. I'm updating from my phone. Anyways, basic vanilla cake, vegan cream filling, covered in rich chocolate ganche, & a cherry on top. 'cause its cute.

Crucial Cupcake

not really its a mint cookies & cream cupcake & Chris Crucial. So the combination of Crucial and Cupcake just work. Don't they? I think so. This picture rules. Cupcake Contest

While picking up a meal from Food Not Bombs in downtown Fresno. My intentions of getting my hands on some tasty vegan soup were met, well, I didn't get my hands on soup I got my hands on some yummy pasta. Its always a good thing when its cold in Fresno. I was told about a cupcake contest going on Dec. 10th 2009. Its a benefit for Food Not Bombs (if you decide to sell your cupcakes) which I am down for. I love what FNB does for the community. So, the contest part there are three catagories: Most Creative, Best Tasting, & Best Decorated. One wins a price if they are chosen. I don't know the word on the street who will be the judge but I think StaySweetCupcakes has a big chance of being the lucky one of these three. Anyone can enter. $3 gets you a place. You bring your cupcake/cupcakes. Remember this is a nonprofit everyone is welcomed t attend no money will be made (to yourself) but will be benefitting F.N.B. Giant Cupcake > Regular Cupcake

Yes, please. All I have to say is that making this cupcake takes forever. About a good hour depending on how high or low your temperature is at. This is probably my fourth time making this Giant cupcake and I had this cupcake pan for a couple of years now. Its not that I don't like making these, but really when does one eat a GIANT cupcake on any given day? I don't know one sane person who does..just sayin' You can whip up a batch of cupcakes eat one or five and then share. But this cupcake is much more you can't share it, I mean you can..but do you want to? not really. You just want to keep it looking cute. I mean really would you eat a cute cat, dog,or baby? maybe you would. None of my business. So back to what I am trying to get out. This cupcake! Not just any ordinary cupcake, a vegan cookies&cream cupcake. What gets me most is when these cupcakes are presented are the looks on the faces of the people receiving them. Its pretty awesome. I made this for (okay stay with me now) my friend Omar's friend who happens to be in a band that was playing a show Friday (yesterday). Tragic Ends (google them).If I remember correctly his name is Scout? he just had a birthday but them being on tour he didn't get to celebrate it. Omar asked if I could set aside one of my usual cupcakes (regular size) w/ a candle and we can give it to him, but I had a better idea. I offered to make a Giant Cupcake I had the pan collecting dust(not really) it was time to use it again, plus who would rather have a regular size cupcake over a GIANT cupcake? no one. the bigger the better, right? So, here is what the cupcake looked like:

So, as most of you know if you read this blog I sell cupcakes at shows that is pretty much how I make some money for myself to get the bus to school, buy more baking supplies, & blah blah blah. For this show I made Cookies&Cream which I sold for .50 ( I know them being vegan I can make a lot more, but I like to keep it diy, well for now, I know kids have it hard gathering up money for the show alone) & Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes which I sold for $1(again, I know). This kid Mitch (if I remember correctly) (on the right) asked me if he ate this cupcake in one bite, wait let me describe this cupcake it was a lemon base cake filled with strawberries salted in pure maple syrup (which is expensive) & lemon buttercream (which took me forever to zest lemon, and squeeze the juice out, did I mention I had tiny knuckle cuts, OUCH), topped with the cake (that was scooped out, to fill it with strawberries) and more strawberries & lemon buttercream and then with two strawberry slices on the very top, if he could pay .50 cent for the cupcake instead of $1, I mean really? is a dollar a lot for what I described? did I mention it was vegan, plus everything was pure & organic. ugh, I gave in and accepted but I told him that if I was going to give him it at half the price that I needed proof of his ability to eat a cupcake in one single bite, His friend ahh sorry if you read this I don't remember your name if you told me it, wanted in as well. I tried to take a picture but all I got was it already in the mouth. I wanted the cupcake in the mouth showing, get me? ha. Oh well, that was the first and last time, but I can't really complain because he ended up giving me a dollar ha ha. So I snapped this fancy picture okay its not fancy but shut up I got the flash to start working & plus you get to see the cyc for those of you who haven't been/seen. Well, you get to see some of it the lovely bathroom ha. Maybe next time I will get someone who will wait for me to snap the picture before eating it? ha. This was probably the longest post ever.

Stay Sweet Cupcakes Order

I just got back from delivering the first order of Stay Sweet Cupcakes to a lovely lady named Linda. (pumpkin spice) I hope that these are not the last order I will be getting from her. :) I hope there are more in the future. This along with other orders really keep me on track to what I plan on doing for the rest of my life. When I'm in my kitchen baking away I forget about the stress I encounter at school, the world, with bills, people.. you get the idea! Ugh, anyways. I'm happy when I'm baking. I'm glad I found my niche in life. I honestly do not know how it came along. Its in myblood? Ha. Tomorrow I have another order for a Giant cupcake! It will be a cookies&cream one. S'more please

If you haven't heard of a S'more or never had the chance to eat one of these treats of the fat gods. Than you haven't lived. I think you should pull aside all of your plans & go out into the neck of the woods and set up camp. Start a fire and roast some marshmallows vegan/nonvegan melt some chocolate grab some gram crackers and start going at it. S'mores that is! Do it. You won't be sorry. Unless you hate the outdoors (which would be weird) Or you can bust a college move and melt some chocolate in your microwave ( that thing that heats up breakfast, lunch & dinner) roast marshmallows over your gas oven and steal gram crackers next time you visit your parents and or family members who actually have food in their homes, ha. Gather your roommates and enjoy some S'mores. Or if you aren't just into the whole working process of actually making everything and putting it together yourself. Call me up I'll whip you up some S'more cupcakes for $12 bucks a dozen. You won't be disappointed.

Peppermint Cupcakes

If the title didn't give it away than I don't know what else to say.
Peppermint Cupcakes are the best part of Fall/Winter season aside from pumpkin cupcakes, pie, cookies, drank and bread. duh. Mint chocolate cake with mint buttercream. The only thing that makes these look simple is the way I decided to decorate them. I didn't have mint leaves so deal with it. I did have red sprinkles but then it just reminded me of a candy cane and that reminded me of Christmas I hate Christmas. But I do like peppermint hot chocolate. and peppermint ice cream even though I can't eat it. Well, I can but I choose not to eat something that will do damage to my stomach later on in the day. I don't like stomach aches, no bueno.

Maple Cupcake (vegan)

Yeah, I wish I can say more than just maple. It sounds too plain. I know maple, maple... it doesn't even sound like it would taste good. "What are those?" "Maple Cupcakes" "Oh, yumm- wait what? Maple? That's interesting" "Yup."

All I got to say these only sound bad, but they are delicious. Its really hard to describe the taste of these cupcakes. It was not bad it was really good but what do you call something that I really good but you never tried in your life? I can't describe it or compare it to anything I have ever tried. Weird. Well, I guess this gives me a new taste to add to all my past taste, ha ha. I don't even know what I am talking about now. I hate updating through my phone, because I just do. Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes (Vegan)

To make up for the lack of posting about cupcakes this week I decided to try out a new recipe, I invented. Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes, yeah you heard right. Strawberries & lemonade, yum! You bet your ass these cupcakes where very delicious. Actually, It wasn't all me who invented it. I just came up with the recipe while my nine year old sister had told me how she wished strawberry lemonade was a cupcake. She asked about strawberry lemonade cupcakes, if it were possible. I pretend like I knew and said "Yes, it is!" But really I had no idea. I mean really? can it be possibly can one create an awesome drink and transform it to an even awesomer version of a cupcake? yes. its possible.Strawberry lemonade by its self just sounds amazing. But, Strawberry Lemonade Cupcake style = perfection. These ruled. The cake was lemon I guess the whole lemonade concept is a contrast of sweet&sour that satisfy the taste buds. So, with the lemon giving it the "sour" while the strawberries give it the "sweet" these pretty little things had a blast full of flavor. I think it gave it that taste of strawberry lemonade drink cupcake style. Whatever that means. Cake: lemon, Frosting: Lemon buttercream, Strawberries soaked in pure maple syrup for a while before being put to work. Outcome: 10. Well, now you can just stare & drool at the pictures, while I work on the order form page!
