Big things ahead

That's right the title doesn't lie. There are many things ahead for Stay Sweet Cupcakes and I'm glad to announce them. Fall is in and the holidays are coming up. That only means more orders and more excuses to bake. I am very happy for that. I know I said maybe next post I'll blog about the potato chip cupcake, but I didn't make a potato chip cupcake this time. I did however make a strawberry cupcake. That I don't think I have ever introduced to this blog. Well, here it is a strawberry/vanilla cake topped with strawberry buttercream and topped with freshly chopped strawberries and chocolate, yum. This is just the start of this recipe. I plan on putting more strawberries for the lovers of strawberries. Anyways, other news, I got asked if I can participate and donate some cupcakes for a Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation event that is happening in Fresno, CA at a local high school. I will donate and also hand out a few business cards that have up to 50% off the next stay sweet cupcake purchase. I hope these are a big hit. I have some creative freedom to these cupcakes, but they asked for most pink and white theme. I have some ideas already and I am already wanting to go ahead and get started on these! But I have to wait. The event is happening Oct. 21st at a volleyball game, I won't be able to be there, but I will still get represented. Which is cool. I have a class I can't afford to miss. Anyways, I'm happy about this and hope this gets me some more customers and gets my name out there. So, with that being said updates will come asap. I also, have an interview for my local school newspaper I was offered to do this on vegan cupcakes, I am happy. This is going to happen tomorrow in the evening I am very nervous but extremely excited, if that even makes any sense. I don't know, but I can't wait. I will definitely blog about it and post pictures and all that fun stuff. Anyways, thats all for now. I hope next update will be about a damn new cupcake! :)

now, why? because its the new hot thing. I still love my blogspot forever and ever more, but its cool to get out there. I'm glad I made it within a couple of days I got a lot of people to "like" the page and it feels good, no lie. I have also been leaving my business cards around campus, public places, around Fresno and everywhere I can. haha. And I guess it paid off. I got offered an interview for my schools newspaper which I am really stoked on. I know I will get out there more with that. Also, Oct. 9th a bunch of my friends are having a reunion show (Prove It) an old Fresno band.. which will be fun. They are going to play the Stay Sweet Core song live and record it and my good friend Daniel aka xvdedvx who is also the singer of the band is going to put the video together and get that out there soon I am happy about that. and a little nervous. haha. I have to give some live footage of me baking and shit. Should be fun. I am extremely happy about it. Other than that, I will be testing the Potato Chip cupcake tomorrow, maybe half a dozen and see how that goes.

New Recipe(s)

I get crazy ideas and I get loads of influence when I am blogging, walking, sitting, sleeping, eating, window shopping, and webbing it. I am pretty stoked on some new recipes I have came across and some recipes that just floated into my head as I looked around at cupcakes and cupcake decorating tools. Whether I'm at the store or at home or even day dreaming in class I have new recipes on my mind, weird? Probably, but I don't care. I thought a lot about a few that will be mentioned and I have seen a few that I would love to veganized and try out. Soon, if not now. I hate that I can't just go out to the store and buy what I think I might need, because I'm broke. I will make them soon and I'm sure they will be a hit. At least thats what I'm hoping for... wait, how did I forget!
The other night which was possibly last week I had made my friends of VULGAR last show cupcakes I got the idea from another friend who text me "Jan make Vulgar cupcakes" at first I was like vulgar cupcakes, gross, okay. But then I realized he was talking about the band. ha ha. So, I decided fuck it sounds awesome and it would probably be the talk of the night, I don't know if it was. It probably wasn't. But they came out pretty fucking rad. I thought so. I don't usually do this type of decorating because my skillz suck duh look at the last post, haha. But I was down to do it anyways...Here they are. I was also listening to minor threat while I was destroying in the kitchen so yeah, that's how that rad cupcake got in there...btw I hate iphone pictures soooooo much I miss my old phone soooo much. :(

BEAT LA cupcakes

because my hate for the LA DODGERS grows every day. No joke, I am definitely not a fan of southern California. Why? because its boring, overrated, and everything there sucks. I don't know what the hype is...I guess that is just me. I love the bay area a lot and with that being said. I love the SF Giants. So, I decided why the hell not go ahead and make some Beat LA and DODGERS SUCK cupcakes for this series when SF was in LA. So, that's exactly what I did. First of all, forgive me for using this shitty camera phone, the iphone rules, but at the same time the picture quality is shit compared to my old phone, which, I do miss and I wish I still had, but that can't happen, because I let someone barrow it and it 'accidentally' broke the next day, bullshit. Anyways, so they didn't come out great on photo as they were in person. It looked like I used paint on some of them and when people saw them they didn't believe it was 'buttercream' and not fondant. oh well, people are going to believe what they want to. So, here are the pictures chocolate cake and buttercream. I didn't eat any because I was pissed about the first game, but we won the last two and took the series and now we are trailing 1 and Padres lose ten games straight. Stoked I am. :)
Anyways, these are not the best, but I know I can do better next time. Maybe I'll do it again when LA comes to SF and I will have a better idea of what I want to do. They will be a million times better trust me. Uhhh, I don't know what else to say.....

Oh yeah, I forgot to sign up for this cake decorating contest at my damn school! :( I was stoked on it and I forgot the last day to sign up was on Friday. I am so sad. I could have won....

Sound and fury + cupcakes =

best idea ever.
I baked up four dozens of cupcakes and sold them all. Sweet business, sweet news. Sound and fury was great. Even if the day ended pretty fast it was all worth while staying up late to bake four dozens of cupcakes in my kitchen and have them ready for the final day of SAF. I was glad I pulled it off and I was glad to be there. I priced them at $1 each and they were all gone by the time the fourth band played. It was quite awesome. I seen my friends from up north, down south, out east, and midwest. It ruled. I was glad to be there. I also seen some friends from Fresno, ha ha. Sweet? duh. Always. I got to see beartrap play their set which was cool, but I wish the kevins were there to hang out with. Cool dudes. Oh well, maybe next time. I at least got to see the set and witness Beautiful People cover which ruled. Anyways, The cupcakes at the fest was a success, next year? I hope. I have big plans for it to happen and I just hope my friends bands play so I can have a spot on a merch table again. I need more patches to be made and more buttons maybe I will have shirts by then? We'll see. Maybe I will get my own table and get to sell cupcakes and cookies, that would rule. I would be content. But I'm excited for now and planning tons of things in my head even if I don't have a spot I will still sell them outside in the parking lot. 'cause thats how I roll.

The cookie crumbles into a cupcake.

Or whatever. Yeah, Ive been on this peanut butter & cookie trail cupcake. Judge me. I wont stop until I discover the best variations of these two awesome inventions. This cupcake is a peanut butter base cupcake with some chocolate sandwich cookies crushed into them. The outcome from one of my sisters (other opinions I will find out tomorrow) was that it taste like a cookie. Is that good? I dont know. I wanted to add peanut butter frosting but that would of been too much, who knows, i sure dont. Maybe with that extra peanut butter kick it would put the world at peace I will marry Scott Nestor and life would be perfect, but Im not going to try that. It just sounds like a bad idea that is waiting to happen the idea to destroy the world where I would have to settle for a nonbaseball player and the world would not be at peace, which wouldnt be so bad. If i married my dream boy, shit, anyways, back to what I was writing. I think to much peanut butter means more time on the toilet, eeek. That is not the plan I want to happen or the intention of this cupcake, so tomorrow morning which is like five hours away, i will be topping it with something simple and not too crazy. I will also be getting more opinions on it and whether its a favorite or not. I shall see. For now drool (if youre cool like me & peanut butter is your thing) or just scoop out these badASS idea cupcakes. Thats all I have. Go to this show! New cupcake! New post.

I was walking around in winco one night/day because I don't really have a life at three in the morning and because I'm too broke to turn on the AC at home so I just freeload off of winco its close to my house and it feels soo good. Plus, its cool because I get awesome ideas when I walk around looking like a nut faking to find something that I know damn well is not there. like while I was enjoying the free ac I came across peanut butter oreos, I don't know if those are vegan but they looked awesome and the flavor was just screaming out to me. Then that awesome light that you see in cartoons turn on when one of the characters has an awesome idea over his/her head, yeah that didn't happen but I had an idea. Peanut butter cookies n crunch? or cream or whatever, it just had to do with peanut butter, I love peanut butter and cookies rule well famous amos cookies rule and I know those are vegan. Anyways, I had this on my mind for a long time. I just hadn't came around to it. So, when I had extra peanut butter buttercream I decided I can whip up half a batch. And BAM! here it is. whats up? took some to the show and they were the first to go. Some stayed here at my house because my roommates where having a poker/potluck night the same day. This is just the first try maybe I will see if the oreos are vegan and use those instead of plain sandwich cookies.







Also, I made these Key lime coconut cupcakes, just incase anyone wanted a reason to drool.
